A year ago, a group of new residents picked up their keys, dragged suitcases up to their rooms and had no idea what the next twelve months would bring. Since then, we've watched that same group turn into a community. We were there for the opening week nerves, the friendships that started to form and the moment Codomo Granada stopped being a building and started being home.
A welcome to remember
It all began in September, when we welcomed our very first residents. A few weeks later, on the 26th, we threw our official welcome party on the rooftop: great food, refreshing drinks, a DJ setting the mood, and stunning views over Granada and the Sierra Nevada. We also took Codomo out into the city for MUAC Fest, the kind of event that turns "I'll just stop by for a bit" into "we stayed until sunrise." Between the two, September set the tone for everything that followed.
Workshops that brought out hidden talents
Not every highlight needed a DJ. Some of our favorite moments came from residents rolling up their sleeves together:
A sushi workshop that proved you don't need to be a chef, just a willing group of neighbors and a lot of rice.
Sunrise workouts for the residents who somehow had the energy for burpees before breakfast.
A Gingerbread Cookie workshop that turned the kitchen into the best smelling room in the building, for one very sticky, very sweet afternoon.
An Art & Wine night that brought out hidden talents (and one or two very confident abstract paintings).
Halloween done properly
Naturally, Halloween couldn't pass without a proper scare. Our team went all out decorating the building, and residents showed up in full spooky style. From creative costumes to unexpected characters. We loved seeing everyone’s imagination come to life.
Christmas, and a countdown to year two
On December 17, we closed out 2025 with a Christmas & New Year's Eve Party. Delicious bites and relaxed conversations gave way to a DJ turning up the energy, and at midnight the whole building followed tradition, eating 12 grapes to welcome in the New Year in true Codomo style.
The pool parties and the goodbye party
Ice cream in hand, sun on the rooftop, and a pool full of residents getting to know each other better. That was the scene for our pool party, one of those effortless afternoons where nobody needed much of an excuse to show up.
A few weeks later, the community had one more reason to gather. This time it was a goodbye party. Relaxing by the pool with good food and drinks in the afternoon, then the rooftop lighting up as the sun dropped and the music took over.
Add in the pool days, the dinners, and the quiet Tuesday evenings on the rooftop, and you've got a year that was never really about the building. It was about who filled it.

Amelia and Juan have been with Codomo Granada since day one, so we asked them what stuck with them most.
Amelia, Property Manager, still smiles when she thinks back to move-in week. Residents who barely nodded at each other in the elevator during those first days turned, just weeks later, into a group dancing together on the rooftop during the welcome party, like they had lived there for years. For her, that shift is the clearest sign of how quickly a real community takes shape.
Juan, Regional Manager, tends to look at the bigger picture. The team has now welcomed more than 1,900 residents, and along the way something bigger than housing has grown. Residents and the team itself, from cleaning and maintenance to the restaurant, reception, and management, have come together as one big family. And there is no time to slow down, since right now everyone is busy onboarding a whole new wave of residents for the start of the season.
Here's to year two
Year one turned Codomo Granada into a real community, and that's not something that just stops. Whatever year two brings, one thing is certain: plenty more stories worth telling, and plenty more people ready to make them. To everyone who made this first year what it was, thank you. And to everyone about to move in, get ready. You're about to become part of something pretty special. This is just the beginning.
